The sun cross and its variants is probably the most widespread stylized symbol of all among human civilizations. Native Americans, ancient Persians, medieval Irish priests, Bronze Age European farmers, contemporary neo-Nazis and many more groups and cultures have used the symbol in rituals, in identity building or in campaigns of hate. The sun: life-giver, bringer of warmth, origin of light, changer of seasons and friend of navigators, has always been, and is likely to remain, a powerful symbol for mankind.
